Join University of Massachusetts, Boston in France!

This unique study abroad program is an intimate look at French language and history in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Students will take a total of 40 hours of French language and 15 hours of phonetics, providing an immersive learning experience for foreign language students. Among the resources and activities included in this program: housing, a language placement test, boat tour of Paris, cheese tastings, museum visits, cooking classes, and more!

  • Program Details
    • 1-7 students enrolled: Intensive Language Course at Cours de Civilisation Françaises de la Sorbonne
    • 8 or more students: Intensive Language Course at Cours de Civilisation Françaises de la Sorbonne, plus UMass Boston faculty-led sessions
      • Taught by UMass faculty
      • Prerequisite course: MLLC 390 (must be taken by Spring 2020)
      • Students have option to enroll in both programs
      • Students who have taken more than 5 semesters of college French might have the option to opt out of the CCFS Intensive Language Course. Students who are eligible would receive a discount on program fees.
  • The credits for the language course taken at the CCFS will be transferred to the student’s UMB transcript, provided that the course taken follows the French language course sequence at UMB, and the student’s grade meets UMB requirements.
